Who is La Bella?!

LA Bella

The Artistry sits down with latin urban music artist La Bella born Patricia Marrero in Corona Queens to Dominican & Puerto Rican parents. Inspired by her Dad Nelson “El Cacique” Marrero who performed alongside many known Latin artist, La Bella always had the desire to perform in family events, glee club & talent shows since youth. Now she is ready to introduce to the world her recently released single “Bailare” and indulge the world with her fashion, beauty & romance.

Pyro Da Arsonist: You say you were inspired by your dad from youth so what was one of your earliest memories of your father as far as music is concerned?

La Bella: The biggest memory I have of my dad which inspired me to become an artist was when he brought me up on stage to perform with him.

Pyro: At what age did you write your first song and what was it about?

La Bella: My first song was written at the age of 18 and it was about love due to a break-up.

Pyro: When writing songs who or what do you use as inspiration?

La Bella: When writing songs I use my dad as my Inspiration and also what I’ve been through In life.

Pyro: As a latin female artist do you feel your road to success is tougher than your male counterpart and if so why?

La Bella: As a Latin female artist it can be tough. They could try to come on to you or close doors. It is important to keep it professional and continue to grind.

Pyro: How do you handle balancing your time with your music and your family and how important is their support?

La Bella: It’s been a Lil difficult due to the pandemic but I always make it happen. I must say my support system is great. I’ve been blessed with an amazing family.

Pyro: Anyone who follows you on social media sees that you dress to impress, so do you have a stylist or do you style yourself?

La Bella: I don’t have a stylist everything you see on my social media is done by me. Who knows things could change later.

Pyro: You have the talent and the look to make it in this industry so what do you think is the last piece of the puzzle you need to get you to where you wanna be?

La Bella: I believe the only thing I need is that plug.

Pyro: Who are some artists you would like to work with and why?

La Bella: I would like to work with Nicky Jam, Ozuna, and Daddy Yankee. I enjoy their music, they definitely have charisma but over all they are humble.

Pyro: Your single “Bailare” is out now and making noise around the music scene so when can we expect a full project?

La Bella: I’m currently working on more music and  videos. I’m always working and creating new ideas.

Pyro: Finally what would you tell all the young ladies out there who have a dream but are scared to pursue it?

La Bella: I would tell all the young ladies who want to pursue their dreams to stay focused. Even if they face rejection, keep working and to believe in themselves.

Who is Nicqua B?

I had the privilege to interview Nicqua B on her career and overcoming her struggles. Automatically, I noticed that Nicqua is a vibrant soul, soft spoken yet has a powerful delivery. A creator in many spectrums. A Spoken word artist, musically divine and her brutally honest poetry reflects on the joy and struggles of the modern world. She’s has been doing poetry since the third grade, having her teacher as motivation to pursue her writing career. She has an amazing way of expressing herself. However, as life threw curveballs, facing many challenges like anxiety & depression to losses in her life.  Losing people near and dear to her, Nicqua temporally put her passion on hold from time to time. Nicqua achieved her first hit with her breakthrough EP ‘Who I Am,’ which introduced a wider audience to her dazzling gift for language. As we know, I am a firm believer that passion is power and as time progressed Nicqua passion comes back with power. She made her comeback on a social media platform called “Smooth Lounge R&B and Spoken word artist”, hosted by radio host Lil Nat. She was chosen by her performance and began humbling accepting her comeback. Since the platform experience she kept pushing forward and never looked back. The Native New Yorker released her latest album “The Transition” on August 31st 2020. I’ve enjoyed her eccentric flow on “Use too” to her relatable message on “My Block”. I took a vibe to “Yummy Yummy” as she expressed her melodic pleasures as I was able to connect with her emotions. She is expressive with her words and it truly captivates the listener. You will find her music and social media below as you ready more on Nicqua.

V-Henny: Where in New York are you from?

Nicqua: I am from Uniondale/ Hempstead New York.

As a creator in this industry, has pandemic affected your craft? If so, How?

Believe it or not, it has affected me in a way whereas it motivated me to write more – so many injustices & the pandemic put together basically gave me the passion to speak on it- we lost so many people due to this pandemic & the constant social injustice is heartbreaking.

Tell us briefly about your recent project ” The Transition”.

Well, my ep “ The Transition” is actually showing different sides of me. How I am not just a poet – I am hip hop- I am R&B – like so many amazing artists such as Floetry, Common, Wale, Jill Scott, and many more. Also, it represents the growth in me as a spoken word artist ~ as a poet ~ and the phases I went through in life that I conquered. I thought I was dying without a disease besides anxiety – I literally was giving my husband instructions on what I want him to do once I died. So I have come along way thanks to poetry and my family.

Other notables you have worked with?

I had another EP called ” Who am I ” during my moments whereas I really down. A lot of written poetry on my page, collaborations with other amazing poets, being apart of a supportive tribe, currently working on a book where it has my poetry and speaks on where I was at mentally while writing that particular poem& I am trying to raise awareness for Mental Health Services. A blog for other artists to be able to have a safe space – creating an open mic night ( Tuesday Nights) coming soon and lastly, merchandise in the works.

The ultimate goal within your artistry?

Is to raise awareness for mental health illnesses, give people another form of spoken word artistry – and change people’s lives by making them feel good.

Is there anything else you would like the world to know about you?

I am a mother of four and a nurse. I also like to dance – mainly, I just love every goal I’m running towards.

What makes you stand out from everyone else?

I have no problem touching different aspects of my craft- I’m not afraid to try new things as long as it makes me feel good in my spirit as well as makes my audience feel good as well. I talk about everything – social injustice – slavery – dancing – erotic- love – hip-hop- reminiscent type poems – I try to touch every subject.

What were some steps you took to get to where you are today?

I stayed Consistent- took great care constructive criticism from other poet and none poets – still learning not to take certain things personally but I have gotten a lot better. Opened me up for open mics – to get more comfortable performing – did my own marketing and promotions- did collaborations with other artists – networking

Why is the world ready for Richard Pigkaso?

V-Henny: Why do you feel the world is ready to see what you have to offer?

Richard Pigkaso: I feel the world is ready to see something out of the box. Something that isn’t anything like the regular rapper that goes on stage, spits some bars, and then leaves the stage with no feeling. The world needs a different side of hiphop and entertainment that can make people be amazed and feel inspired.

V-Henny: How does your creativity stands out?

Richard Pigkaso: I yo-yo professionally while rhyming. I give a show within a show with LED lights, smoke screens, yo-yo tricks, and crowd engagement that usually leaves people baffled.

My creativity stands out from my stage presence and rhymes. I have been told from time to time that I have a cadence similar to Eminem which a lot of people respect. I want to be able to leave an impression in your heart and mind. I know if I didn’t, when I study the crowd and get no type of reaction or awe from them. It seems strange that people feel compelled to come to me after I perform and bombard me with question on my yo-yo tricks and LED lights all over my body. I also feel with the way that I rhyme, it brings back that old school feeling of rap from back in the days.

V-Henny: When did you realize that coinciding your professionalism as a yo-yo artist with Hip Hop can be expressed together?

Richard Pigkaso: I realized I can combine my love of yo-yoing and hip hop when I was making my first record, which I haven’t released. In 2012, I was in the booth rapping at Arizzma Entertainment and every time the engineer was fixing my verses and mixing, I would yo-yo. It dawn to me that I truly standout in Hip Hop, as I showcase something that the world has never thought of. I said to myself, “hey why not try to fuse 2 thing you both love?” Since then I’ve always made it a priority to be as theatrical to capture the audiences eye.

V-Henny: Outside of Hip Hop and entertaning, what do you do on your spare time?

Richard Pigkaso: The way that I rogue can switch from being extremely silly, and then switch to being about positivity and change in our community. Outside of hiphop, I donate my time to a lot of charities, schools and teach children how to do yo-yo tricks.

V-Henny: How do you want the world to perceive you as an artist?

Richard Pigkaso:  I want to be the worlds first artist that not only has lyricism. I want to be perceive as the first “performing rapper” The world needs “Eminem meets Cirque Du Soleil”
